Doug White, "Whitey", is the Director of Baseball is the Director of Baseball Operations for AstroTurf’s Western Division. He received an associate’s degree in business at Butler Community College, and later became a pitching coach. Doug received his degree in Public Administration from Washburn University where he was a graduate assistant baseball coach. He also served as the Head Baseball Coach and Athletics Director for Coffeyville Community College for 6 years, during which time they won the 1993 Eastern Sub-regional Championship. He served as the Pitching Coach for Hutchinson Community College for one year and was an Assistant Coach for the two-time World Series NBC Champions, Wichita Broncos of the Collegiate League.
As Director of Baseball Operations for AstroTurf’s Eastern Division, Aaron Klotz brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his customers. As well as his extensive experience as a player and a coach, Aaron comes to AstroTurf with professional experience from ProGrass where he was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He has personally been involved in over 200 synthetic turf football and baseball projects. He is a member of the Synthetic Turf Council, the American Baseball Coaches Association, and is an active voter for the College Baseball Hall of Fame Foundation. He resides in Adrian, Michigan with his wife, Alison, and his son, Logan, and daughter, Lexie. When Aaron is not working he can be found on coaching on the baseball diamond.
Andy Belles began his career in sports surfacing in 1977 in his hometown of Ft. Lauderdale estimating tennis, turf and track projects. His career in this industry spans 5 decades. Andy has been involved in the design, manufacturing, sales and installation of tennis, turf and track surfaces, both domestically and internationally. He holds several patents or pending patents including the Magic Carpet II System of which he is co-patent holder along with Ryan Paris. He currently manages Field Hockey in the US and Canada as well as Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights for AstroTurf. Finally, Andy assists in the sale and distribution of AstroTurf products in the international market.
Carl Capellas serves as AstroTurf’s National Director of Soccer and oversees all aspects of the company’s soccer products, sales, sponsorships and collaborations with our soccer partners around the world. He specializes in FIFA Certification. Carl has been instrumental in developing relationships with sports consulting, facility management, and construction companies, as well as the conduction of feasibility studies. He has been involved in every aspect of over 100 projects including sales, financing, corporate sponsorships, client relations, and operations. Before entering the turf business, Carl was a men’s soccer coach for 15 years at such places as The University of Akron, Hiram College, Case Western Reserve University and Marshall University.
David DiGeronimo began his career installing his first all-weather tennis court at age of 12. He graduated from Worcester State University with a degree in Urban Studies and went on to complete his certification in Project Management from Villanova University. Throughout college, he worked on installation crews, customer service repairs, and field-testing. After graduating, he became project manager for Civil Construction. David later established a general sports construction company of his own for clients in California. Over the last decade, he has managed business development, sales, construction, and product development. David continues his passion today in building high performing, safe fields for sports across the nation.
Steve Coleman comes to AstroTurf after eleven years as Vice President of Sales Operations for ProGrass. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Education and followed that up at USF with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Prior to entering the turf industry, Steve spent fifteen years as a teacher and Assistant Athletic Director in Tampa. He is married to Robin with two kids, Dane & Colbie. Steve is full of energy and enthusiasm and we are all just going to have to try to keep with him.
Tom Burlingame is a Colorado State Ram with a B.S. in Natural Resource Management. His love of football and dynamic impact sports has provided a wealth of knowledge to draw from for our synthetic turf clients. Tom comes to AstroTurf with decades of construction and industrial manufacturing experience on top of his multi-sport background. He understands the importance of the entire turf system from the sub-base to the finished product. Tom’s passion lies with making sure all factors are considered so the finished product has the safety and playability AstroTurf is famous for designing and producing, then backing up with top tier customer service. He truly believes in teamwork.
Jeff Raiger, an industry expert with more than 20 years of successful construction industry experience, has a proven ability to foster relationships with all stakeholders involved. Jeff knows that people buy from people and that integrity, sincerity, transparency and trust are the foundation for all healthy long-term partnerships. His vision and ability to nurture relationships lead to long-term solutions and success. He is most fulfilled when clients return to do business again.
Jennifer Young began her successful sales career in 1999. This profession is the ideal use of both her degree from the University of San Diego and her ability to work with people from all walks of life. Jennifer joined AstroTurf in 2010 and broke into the California market with a sales increase of 500% over the previous year. She followed this up with an astounding additional 500% increase in 2011 and impressively doubled sales in 2012, becoming a most improved sales award recipient and in 2014 was awarded Salesperson of the Year. AstroTurf’s family environment coupled with an old-school commitment to doing good business is what drew Jennifer to the company.
Pat Cassa begins his first year with AstroTurf having spent the last 2 years in Texas working with Astrobuilders, the dealer and installer for AstroTurf in the state of Texas. A Southern California native, Pat earned his degree in Philosophy from the University of California Riverside where he also played baseball and was a member of the Big West Conference Championship team in 2007. AstroTurf's sport specific systems and continued pursuit to push the envelope for better performance and player protection are reasons Pat is excited to be working with AstroTurf.
Dominick Berarducci was born in Southern Wisconsin and grew up on Chicago's North Shore. He excelled in the fine arts and also developed interests in Military History, Martial Arts, bodybuilding and motorcycles. With ten years of experience in the turf industry, Dominick has truly found a home at AstroTurf. He has been reunited with his mentor, Jim Savoca, and his long time turf partner, David DiGeronimo. Dominick, along with David founded and spearheaded the green alternative infill revolution on the West Coast which is also rapidly spreading across the nation. He currently resides in Fresno, California.
Jess Bream is a native of Omaha, Nebraska where he played football, basketball and baseball for Millard South High School. He attended Ottawa University and afterwards bought a retail business that he owned and operated for 18 years. Jess coached basketball and baseball at the high school level for 15 years. He currently resides in Englewood, Colorado with his wife and three children. Jess enjoys golf, basketball and spending time with his family.
Bob Lord has been with AstroTurf for two years as the New England Regional Sales Manager covering the states of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Connecticut. He is an alumnus of the University of Maryland, and later became an educator and football coach for 25 years. Upon leaving coaching, he worked for NFL Football Operations as the New England Regional Director of the High School Development Program. He currently is with NFL Officiating as the East Regional Director of Scouting, and he is also the Director of the NFL Football Officiating Academy Northeast. Bob relies on his vast coaching and sales knowledge to provide his customers with the best possible buying experience.
Dan Driscoll earned his BS in Business Administration from Villanova. He worked at Hewlett-Packard for almost 20 years specializing in military and telecom sales. After leaving Hewlett-Packard, Dan was an Executive Vice President of Sales for Commscope and was involved in building our nations wireless cell towers in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. He was one of the original salespeople when AstroTurf started with General Sports Venue. He has been involved with local park and recreational departments for over 30 years. As you can tell, Dan doesn’t like to sit still.
Wes Allen comes to AstroTurf after being on the other side of the table as a turf buyer. He oversaw the fundraising and installation of a turf field while he was the Head Coach and Athletic Director at Oviedo High School in Florida. Wes coached high school football for 15 years serving the last 9 years as Head Coach and is a proud member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. Originally from America’s “Mayberry”, Mt Airy North Carolina, Wes went on to play football at Appalachian State. Having worked in his Dad’s grading business for 5 years, Wes is definitely no stranger to hard work. He is very familiar with the buying process and steps needed to install a new playing surface and is ready to help you along in every step of the way.
Jason Berning is AstroTurf’s VP of Sales for the Western Region, covering 18 states. He is entering his 16th year in the turf industry and has grown his region significantly to be one of the most successful construction divisions in the country. Jason has been a lifetime athlete, continuing through today as a youth coach and adult participant. He has vast experience, specializing in customer consultative advice, like municipalities, using cooperative purchasing contracts where it is appropriate. He has been an industry leader in finding financing solutions to aid buyers. He is involved in the Stadium Manager’s Association Group and is active with many local civic clubs and activities.
Rob Mitchell earned a Bachelor’s in Sport Studies from DeMontfort University in Bedford, England and an MBA in Sports Management from DePaul University. He coached youth soccer for 20 years and has been a Director of Coaching at youth soccer organizations for 9 years. He has coached at the Illinois state level with the Olympic Development program and has coaching licenses from US Soccer, NSCAA and UEFA (English FA). Rob has worked at AstroTurf since 2014. The most notable project that he has been a part of is the Madison Area Technical College (NJCAA level), including the first fully synthetic softball only collegiate field.
Troy Johnson has been in the synthetic turf industry since 2003. He is a Navy veteran that worked on reconnaissance aircraft and more. After the Navy, Troy worked at Northwestern Airlines and later joined the 934th Airlift Wing to work on C-130s. He attended college to study Avionics and while there his instructor told him about backyard putting greens. That got Troy started installing golf greens. While looking for a synthetic turf solution for playground surfacing he went to a conference in Dalton, GA where he met the people at AstroTurf. Troy joined the AstroTurf family in 2015 to provide synthetic grass solutions from large athletic fields to small installations like baseball infields. Troy has seen many advancements in the synthetic turf industry from honeycomb fibrillated fields to the new alternative infill/pad systems and looks forward to helping you will all of your synthetic turf grass needs.
Garrett Bare serves as AstroTurf’s Regional Sales Manager for Tennessee and Kentucky. Prior to joining the company, Garrett was a regional salesperson for Sports Construction Management. He also coached on the Alleghany High School baseball staff for five years. Garrett earned a B.S. in Biology from Lenoir-Rhyne University where he also played baseball for two years. He is a native of Sparta, NC where he currently resides.
Kevin Chessher was born and raised in Houston, TX and has been a turf and track sales industry veteran for 32 years. He has been a part of the growth and evolvement of the turf industry from our traditional AstroTurf systems of the 80's, to the current infill systems, and now our newest DT products. Kevin resides in Houston and is currently the Regional Sales Manager at AstroTurf for Southeastern Texas and Louisiana. He sees it as a privilege to represent the company and brand that started it all, "AstroTurf, the first and STILL the best!"
Greg Whitley comes to AstroTurf ready to share his knowledge of construction, design, and procurement with his customers. Greg was educated at Eastern Nazarene College in Wollaston, Massachusetts with a degree in Business Administration. He was President of Whitley Construction Company, a custom design/build company for 20 years and also served as an Athletic Director for 14 years. Greg now resides in Annapolis, MD with his wife Vickie.
Matt Olds began his career in the synthetic turf industry in 2005. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in the Sport Administration program. After graduation, he moved to Philadelphia for a year, and then New Jersey. Matt helps schools, municipalities & colleges/universities solve their athletic field needs, and shares his experience with the Astroturf sales staff to support them in the sales process. He lives in Ocean Grove, NJ with his wife Emilie and children Lucas, Cooper & Hattie.
Dave Wheaton is the Regional Vice President of Sales for the Northeast region. Dave joined AstroTurf in September of 2006 bringing with him over 20 years of sales and project management experience in the commercial construction industry. He is responsible for managing the regional sales team and distributor network and he develops plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s regional sales goals. Dave manages key customer relationships and participates in closing strategic opportunities. He calls on architects, engineers, athletic directors, and recreational facility managers as well as forming strategic alliances with contractors and sports facility developers. Dave attended the Hun School of Princeton and Cornell University where he majored in Agricultural Economics. A sports enthusiast, Dave is an avid golfer and fisherman. He is also the president of the Western Massachusetts Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse.
Dan Isaac covers all of Indiana and Ohio for AstroTurf. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Akron. Prior to joining AstroTurf, Dan worked for a dealer in the construction and the installation of synthetic turf fields. He also spent fifteen years in municipal sales and several other years in construction and project management including residential construction and mechanical contracting. Dan has been married 20 years and is the proud father of three boys.
Ed Busby is a graduate of Norwich University in North Field, Vermont where he played Defensive Back and Punter. Ed coached football at the high school level and really enjoys attending athletic events all over New England, especially if they involve his grandsons. He resides in Woodstock, Connecticut with his wife Danette.
Anthony Meley has been with AstroTurf for seven years. He lives in Summerfield, NC and is the Regional Sales Manager for North Carolina, South Carolina and Southern Virginia. Originally from Farmingdale, New York, Anthony was a four-year captain and starter for Greensboro College. He also spent three years as the Lacrosse coach at Greensboro College. He and his wife, Lee, are the proud parents two sons, Michael and Will, and a daughter, Peyton.
Curtis Wilson is the AstroTurf Regional Sales Manager for North Texas. To say that football is in his blood is an understatement. Curtis played center and was a Captain for the University of Missouri. He was drafted in 1989 by the New England Patriots and later played for the Detroit Lions and in NFL Europe. His son, Cody, started at fullback for the University of Tulsa. His son, Roman, was a FCS All-American wide receiver at Princeton and his son, Micah, currently is a redshirt freshman quarterback at Mizzou. After Curtis’ football career, he worked in national ministry speaking in over 500 high schools nationwide. He was self-employed for 15 years before spending 3 years with an AstroTurf distributor. Curtis is enjoying his 30th year of marriage with his wife Shelly.
A native Texan, Jason Young’s roots run deep in the state. Jason initially walked on to the football field at Baylor University and later earned honors as team captain and Academic All-Southwest Conference. He graduated from Baylor with a BA in English. Jason has had a successful 23-year career in business which includes training, development, marketing, and sales experience. Eight of those years has come in the turf industry so Jason is well equipped to walk you through the process of planning and building your AstroTurf field.
