Oakdale, CA – The cream of the crop in California high school football seem to be smitten with AstroTurf®. Oakdale High School adds its name to the list of CIF State Champions who have purchased an AstroTurf field in the offseason, joining San Clemente and St. John Bosco. Installation of Oakdale’s new cutting edge AstroTurf playing surface was completed in June.
The new turf used to resurface The Corral is AstroTurf’s Rootzone 3D3 Blend turf system. This is a premium product that combines slit film and monofilament fibers for optimum durability and structural integrity. It also features AstroTurf’s patented RootZone sub-layer, a texturized fiber that stabilizes the infill and delivers additional shock absorbency. The RootZone 3D3 Blend is AstroTurf’s most popular turf for stadiums because it delivers excellent performance, safety, and playability with game day good looks.
Valley Precision Grading, a certified AstroTurf installer, handled the resurfacing of football field. The Corral also received a new scoreboard as part of the offseason stadium upgrade.
Oakdale High School won the CIF Division III-A state title last year. The Mustangs have thrived under head coach Trent Merzon, who has compiled an impressive 187 wins in 18 seasons at the helm in Oakdale. The Mustangs are 86-8 at home since 2004 and finished another stellar season going 12-2 as runners up in Division III-A.
