The new surface is an AstroTurf® 12 system. The field was engineered with a proven, premium knitted nylon fiber designed to provide uniform traction and consistent footing.

Head coach Beth Bozman enters her seventh season at the helm of the Blue Devils, coming off a memorable year in which she won her 300th career game and was inducted into the NFHCA Hall of Fame after the season in a ceremony in Philadelphia.

The Holy Cross field hockey team opened up at home against Harvard at the brand new Hart Turf Field on September 2, 2011 under the direction of second season Head Coach Zowie Tucker.

The premier, state-of-the-art home of the national champions seats 1,400 spectators and meets the highest field standards of the Federation of International Hockey (F.I.H.). Serves as home to Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse and Field Hockey.

The Maryland field hockey team beat North Carolina in double overtime in front of 2,300 fans on AstroTurf® 12 at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex for the 2010 NCAA national championship. With the win, Maryland now owns more national titles than any other school, besides Old Dominion, who has nine. Maryland or North Carolina have won the last six NCAA titles on AstroTurf®.

In the summer of 2010, construction of the brand new AstroTurf® 12 surface was completed on the Columbia Field Hockey Venue.

The Lions returned with a solid group from last year’s team, and welcomed four new Lions to the roster. This season also brought a new new coaching staff, including head coach Marybeth Freeman, and assistant coaches Katie Grant, Samantha Carr, and Danny Haydon.

Led by Head Coach Karen Shelton, the Tar Heels enter the 2009 season as one of the favorites to win the National Championship. Francis E. Henry Stadium was resurfaced with another AstroTurf® 12 system prior to the 2008 season, where the Tar Heels finished the season 14-6 with a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Coach Shelton begins her 29th season at UNC, where she has an impressive record of 462-131-9. Coach Shelton has led the Tar Heels to NCAA Tournament 25 times, earning 16 ACC Championships and five National Championships, most recently in 2007.

On September 13, 2008, Old Dominion University officially opened the Powhatan Sports Complex, a 58,000 square foot facility that is the home to the nine-time NCAA championship Lady Monarch field hockey team.

Arguably one of the top field hockey facilities in the country, the first level houses a 6,000 square foot strength & conditioning area, a 3,000 square foot athletic training room, a players’ lounge, and players’ and coaches’ locker rooms. The second level houses the coaches’ offices and staff meeting rooms.

USA Field Hockey is the national governing body for the sport of Field Hockey in the United States and prepares teams for participation in the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, World Cup and many other international competitions. The Ohio State field hockey team will look to continue building upon the foundation that led the Buckeyes to a 14-7 season and runner-up finish at the Big Ten Tournament in 2008. Head coach Anne Wilkinson, who is in her 14th season at the helm in Columbus and her 22nd season overall, entered 2009 with nine starters returning from a team that won six of their last seven games.

The 2011 Buckeye squad is deep. Bolstered by a talented freshman class, veteran leadership will be key in ushering the young players to Ohio State’s game plan while the individual talent develops into a team.

The squad faces early challenges, but with the right combination of talent and leadership, the Buckeyes will have depth in the line-up to make a strong run at a Big Ten tournament and a berth to the NCAA tournament.

The Lock Haven University field hockey team has rich tradition of pride, excellence and winning. The Lady Eagles have a total of seven National Championships to go along with a number of conference titles and in 2011 The Haven will be looking to add one more trophy to an already decorated list.

Head coach Pat Rudy and her squad have once again been picked to win the Northeast Conference (NEC) title after winning back-to-back-to-back titles and on paper they certainly look fit to make it four in a row.
